AI Batch Image Generation: 200 Images, $8/Month — Nano Banana vs GPT Image

This post is currently available in Chinese only. Read in Chinese →

I run 9 AI employees on OpenClaw. One of them — Xiao Hai — handles Twitter ops: writing tweets, generating images, posting automatically.

Last month I switched from manual image sourcing to Nano Banana Pro API. Two weeks in, 200+ images generated.

This isn't a product review — it's a real usage report: what works, what fails, how much it costs, and how it compares to GPT Image.

The Workflow

Zero manual steps: "post a tweet" → Xiao Hai writes copy + generates prompt → NB Pro outputs image → upload to CDN → auto-post to Twitter.

Two-week results:

  • 200+ images generated
  • Average time: 20 sec/image (Pro), 8 sec/image (NB2)
  • Monthly cost: $8 (¥55)
  • Time saved: 30 min/tweet
  • Chinese text accuracy: ~95%

Head-to-Head: NB Pro vs GPT Image

Chinese posters: Both render Chinese correctly. NB Pro has richer design elements, GPT has cleaner layouts. Tie.

Cyberpunk scenes: NB Pro draws real Tokyo landmarks (FamilyMart, OPEN signs) using search augmentation. GPT's characters are sharper but has garbled Japanese text. NB Pro wins.

Course posters: GPT has neater layouts, NB Pro has more detailed illustrations. Tie.

Final score: NB Pro 3:2 GPT. No absolute winner — depends on use case.

How to Choose

  • Need Chinese text + budget-conscious → Nano Banana 2 ($0.04/image)
  • Need Chinese text + premium quality → Nano Banana Pro ($0.134/image)
  • No Chinese text + realistic portraits → GPT Image ($0.08/image)

Prompt Template

Dark navy blue background with glassmorphism cards
Gradient accents: electric blue to purple
Chinese title: "your title here"
Clean sans-serif typography, minimal

Key tips: Write descriptions in English, put Chinese text in quotes. 16:9 at 2K resolution = $0.134 but double the clarity of 1K.
